Each year, Covina-Valley Unified School District gathers feedback on the design and implementation of the district’s priorities for the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Title 1 Plan. To accomplish this, we are asking our parents to complete a short survey. Your participation is critical in this decision-making process, and we appreciate your assistance! Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is California’s formula for determining the level of state funding provided to districts to provide for their state-supported general and supplemental programs. The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is LCFF’s vehicle for transparency and engagement. It is the way that school districts share performance data, needs, actions, and anticipated outcomes that guide the use of available LCFF funding.
Covina High School and C-VUSD recognized in national media for an exemplary special education program.
Covina High School's Digital Transformation
Covina High School and the Covina-Valley Unified School District are excited to launch a take-home student device initiative. Under this initiative, students will be loaned a Chromebook for use on school-related projects and assignments. Technology use is an important part of education. This is an exciting time for our students, teachers, and the community. The immediate access to technology and innovate instructional design of our staff will have a beneficial effect on student learning and achievement. In addition, these devices are an integral part of teaching digital citizenship in a 21st Century learning environment.
During the week of August 28, 2017, all students will be issued a device - the process will be identical to checking out a textbook. Please reference the 'Digital Transformation Electronic Device Agreement' below. Parents and guardians, please sign this form and return to the school at your earliest convenience (printed copies were sent home with all students on August 23, 2017).
Covina High School - Our Instructional Focus
All students at Covina High School will show measurable growth in their ability to express authentic ideas applied to real-world situations, through speaking, writing and/or artistic expression, as measured by internal and external assessments.
