Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee
The Board of Education of Covina-Valley Unified School District is seeking qualified, interested individuals to serve on a committee of community leaders which will serve as the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (“CBOC”) for the implementation of the District’s Measure CC school facilities bond program.
If you wish to serve on this committee, please review the application cover letter and committee Bylaws for more information about the committee’s role and responsibilities and complete the application. Completed applications should be sent or faxed to the Covina-Valley Unified School District – Business Services Department by 4:30 PM on February 28, 2020.

South Hills Presents: Into the Woods
Come see the South Hills Players in the Tony Award-Winning Broadway musical and cult classic, Into the Woods!
For just $12 with ASB or $15 without you will be entertained by over 60 South Hills cast and crew members as they bring you this hilarious yet oddly dark and intense adventure through "the woods" of life.
We follow Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and a Baker and his wife, on a journey to satisfy a demanding witch and fulfill the wishes they all think they want to come true.
The music is mesmerizing and the show has a special place in South Hills history: the pilot episode for the new Disney Plus series, Encore--produced and hosted by Kristen Bell, was based on "Into the Woods" and was filmed right here in our theatre, five years ago, starring current South Hills students and alumni.
So, COME ONE, COME ALL... INTO THE WOODS!

Here's the letter that was sent to our Superintendent:
Dear Richard Sheehan,
On behalf of Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), I am writing to congratulate the following schools in your district. After an extensive analysis of student data for every public school and district in California, these schools have been identified as clear leaders in getting students to grade-level and beyond and has been named to the 2018 – 2019 Honor Roll. These schools will be recognized in the press as a leader in student achievement and will be provided with a free banner to display at your offices. Also, we will feature your district on ERP’s website where educators, district leaders and policymakers can seek out high-performing schools and districts so that they can replicate success.

The 2018 - 2019 Honor Roll recognizes schools and school districts that have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. For districts with high schools, the Honor Roll recognition also includes measures of college readiness. This year, the California Honor Roll recognized 26 higher-performing districts and 1,831 higher-performing schools.
Through national research, we have identified a common set of success factors in higher-performing Honor Roll schools and districts. These include clear, specific learning objectives aligned to college and career readiness, along with:
- Evidence-based instructional practices
- A defined system-wide mission of college and career readiness for all students
- An investment in human capital
- Maintenance of data and assessment systems to monitor school and student performance
- Resources and guidance to support schools' efforts in preparing all students for college and career

Nutrition Services is accepting meal applications for the 2019-2020 school year.
All families need to apply every school year to qualify for free and reduced meals.
You may apply in person at the Nutrition Services Office between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm or you may click on the meal application link below to apply online. Meal applications are also available through the C-VUSD mobile app that you can download from iTunes or Google Play stores.
