Hi. Welcome to the Adult Transition Program Covina (ATP). My name is Mary Montoya. I am a proud parent of one beautiful adult female and two adult male boys. This is my 24th year in special education. I have a duo credential in Special Education Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe and a Master of Science in Special Education. I have worked with students from pre-school to high school and young adults. I have conducted home hospital instruction after school for the past ten years for both, general and special education students.
At the ATP program, we use BASICs framework to educate our students in the Five Domains, which are: FUNCTIONAL ACADEMICS, DOMESTIC, VOCATIONAL SKILLS, COMMUNITY, AND RECREATION / LEISURE. We have a great variety of Instructional Aides, Health Aides, and Physical Health Aides which are of great support to our students. I am so blessed and grateful for all the support my staff offers in the classroom. At ATP we make the safety and well-being of our students a priority. I am looking forward to a very productive and enjoyable 24/25 school year.
