CAASPP Testing
Students in grades 6-8 will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). The assessment is comprised of a mix of online and paper-pencil assessments. The online component contains the Smarter Balanced English-language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics tests. The paper-pencil component includes the CST science test for 8th-grade students. This year's 8th graders will also be piloting the new science assessment known as CAST - California Science Test.
California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)
Each Spring students at Treweek Middle School participate in the CAASPP. It is a computer-based test that replaced the standardized test known as STAR. This May, students in grades 6 through 8 will take the tests in English-language arts and mathematics online using a computer.
In order to best prepare students for the assessments, we encourage parents and students to access the CAASPP Training and Practice Tests at home. By doing so, students can familiarize themselves with the interface and preview the assessment.
