Principal's Message

Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Chris Hert

Hello Mesa Families, this is Dr. Chris Hert, the principal of Mesa Elementary School. I would like to first thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this unprecedented last few months. Thank you for giving us time to work through and develop the best plan possible for the start of the new year. As the impact of the virus continues to change the most fundamental aspects of how we live, including how we hold school, we are working diligently to provide the best schooling possible.

Here are a few quick announcements to help with the beginning of the year. As you know, we will begin the 20/21 school year with remote learning on August 17th. If you haven’t confirmed your child’s registration through the parent portal, please do so as soon as you can. We will be releasing teacher assignments by Thursday, August 13th. All new students to Mesa Elementary School can pick-up their laptops beginning August 10th through the 11th. The schedule for device pick-up will be found on Mesa’s website. For returning students, please make sure their laptops are operational, fully charged, and can be logged in to the device.

Our daily schedule for distance learning will also be posted on the website. The schedule will detail the times for instruction for each grade level.

We will hold our virtual Back to School Night on August 18th. Please check the school’s website for a detailed schedule for the night.

On August 20th, we will have a drive-thru book and supply pick-up. Our staff has been hard at work filing baskets full of pens, pencils, markers, glue sticks, rulers, and workbooks. Please check the school’s website for a detailed schedule for pick-up times.

Lastly, all of us at Mesa Elementary School are excited to see the students. We are excited to see their smiles and to work with them each and every day. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. Thank you for your continued trust and support. We will see you soon.
