Covina-Valley also offers Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to those students who will celebrate their 5th birthday between September 2nd and the new date of January 31st. If students turn five by January 31st, they may enroll into TK at the beginning of the school year. Transitional Kindergarten is a two-year kindergarten program that provides our youngest students with a year of readiness that is developmentally appropriate and will better prepare them for success once they enter regular kindergarten. Students have the opportunity to learn and access curriculum in a classroom that implements small group and "hands-on" learning in a language-rich environment. Transitional Kindergarten prepares students for the social and academic expectations of a regular kindergarten the following year. It truly gives children an early start to success.
