Northview High School sits on 43 acres in the northwest section of the City of Covina in the county of Los Angeles.  We welcomed our first class of students in the 1959-1960 school year and we have been serving the community with excellence in education ever since.  As one of the three comprehensive high schools in the Covina-Valley Unified School District, our campus has experienced change and growth throughout the years.

In addition to drawing students from the cities of Covina and Irwindale, our school also attracts students from surrounding areas who want to take part in the many programs that Northview has to offer.  Our campus, which is admired for its park like atmosphere, is teeming with beautiful blossoming trees and shrubs, garden areas and benches.  Home to over 1,300 students and over 100 faculty and staff members, we take pride in our campus and in our students.

In 2012, our school was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as being in the top 10% of the high schools in the state of California.  Out of the 2,407 schools, Northview was rated #238.  Seen by many as the little engine that could, Northview has been recognized by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in providing quality education for decades.  We also received California Distinguished School status in 2005.

Northview is proud of our many programs which include our FAME (Fine Arts, Media and Entertainment) Academy which is housed in a newly renovated space that is now home to multiple computer labs, a mobile production unit and a state of the art television and film studio.  Our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program grows every year and we continue to build upon the foundation provided by Las Palmas Middle School, an AVID demonstration school.  We also offer many AP and Honors courses as well as ROP, CTE, and many extra-curricular activities.

We are excited about our campus renovations which include our new entry on the north side of campus, our football field, and our soon to be completed aquatic center.
