Immunizations

C-VUSD and the Los Angeles County Health Department require up-to-date immunization records for incoming transitional kindergartners / kindergartners and students new to the district.

• Records must be presented in written form and authorized or signed by a public health clinic, health care provider before a student can begin attending classes
• 3-year old TK students: Must meet the Pre-K requirements. If a student turns 4 years old before school starts, they must meet TK–12 requirements. 
  • If a student turns 4 after they have started school, families have 10 school days from the student’s birthday to obtain the additional immunizations required to meet TK–12 requirements.
  • Note: Hib is not required for TK/K admission.

Whooping Cough (Pertussis)

Since 2011, California law requires students to be immunized against pertussis (also known as "Tdap"). Students must receive one dose of the Tdap vaccine on or after their 7th birthday. Additionally, all students entering the 7th grade will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.
