About Our School
I am Kim Sheehan, the principal of Barranca Elementary a Computer Science Immersions School where CODE is our Second Language. Not only am I the principal but I am a former Barranca Bronco. I love my job and I love your kiddos.
Our theme this year for your students is, Ask me what I want to B. We will be asking your children that all year. I asked a student I saw in Target the other day and he said a millionaire. A great goal is to read a million words. I saw another student at Movie Night at Covina Park and she said she didn’t know. I suggested that we can all B kind. She smiled and gave me a big hug. We can all B something great everyday. Our mission is that your students grow academically, socially and emotionally. Our instructional focus is reading comprehension at grade level. We want all students to ROCK (Read Often Communicate Knowledge). WE will be working really hard on Math this year and focusing our skills at all grade levels. PRIDE (Positive Attitude, Respect, Integrity, Dependability and Excellence) continues to be our behavior model. Our mission, our instructional focus and our PRIDE are everyday expectations.
We want all our students to love school. We want them to know that they are safe and they are loved. When would you like to come take a personal tour and visit Barranca?
