Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

  • The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is an opportunity for parents to work together with their school district to establish goals and actions in relation to education according to eight state priority areas: Basic Services, Common Core, Parental Involvement, Student Achievement, Student Engagement, School Climate, Course Access, and Other Student Outcomes. Parents and the district’s outlying community, students, educators and employees included, may become involved in a school district’s “overall vision for students, annual goals, and specific actions the district will take to achieve the vision and goals.” LCAP is an essential and imperative component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), the new state funding model, intended to provide local control, equity, accountability, transparency, and engagement when determining the needs of our students.
