Covina-Valley Unified School District high school fall sport coaches presents awards to honor students that performed well this season.


NEW BOARD MEMBER OATH OF OFFICE

Covina-Valley Unified School District welcomed new Board of Education member Simon Wright and returning member Rachael Robles during the Board’s reorganization meeting on Dec. 12. Mr. Wright and Mrs. Robles took the Oath of Office during a ceremony prior to the meeting, affirming that they will fulfill the duties of a Board of Education member and uphold the values of the District throughout the next four years.


WEST COVINA & COVINA CITY CHRISTMAS PARADES 2022

Covina-Valley Unified School District students gathered to represent their school pride at the City of Covina’s 71st Annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 3. Members from the Associated Student Body (ASB), dance, cheer, band and football came to show their school pride alongside Board of Education members. On Dec. 10. student council members from Mesa, Rowland Ave., Workman, and Grovecenter elementary schools, as well as student leadership and Where Everyone Belongs representatives from Traweek Middle School participated in the parade. South Hills High School Cheer and Pomline also performed, showcasing their great pep and school pride at the City of West Covina's Annual Christmas Parade.


STUDENT BOARD MEMBERS' OATH OF OFFICE

Covina-Valley Unified School District students will join the Board of Education and serve as a voice for their peers after being sworn in as 2022-23 student board representatives at the Board of Education meeting on Nov. 14. Every school year, the District will select a student board member and an alternate from each of C-VUSD’s four high schools to participate in the governance process of the district, learn essential democratic skills, and represent and advocate for their peers. South Hills High junior Ahriana Chavez, Northview High senior Princess Espinoza Conde, Covina High junior Ashley Raffaeli, and Fairvalley High senior Bryan Santana were selected as this year’s representatives.


PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION FALL WORKSHOP

The Parent Teacher Association met for a Fall Workshop to explore team building, receive updates on what's going on in the District, and more! Parents, Teachers, and Staff got together to plan for the upcoming school year and show school spirit through raffles, presentations, and exercises.


WELCOME BACK CONVOCATION

Covina-Valley Unified School District welcomed teachers and staff to the start of the new school year with celebrations, appreciation, and a powerful keynote speaker at their convocation on Aug.18. The convocation included two spotlight videos celebrating the 2022-23 Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year, as well as a showcase video highlighting the amazing programs and culture in Covina-Valley Unified. The District also recognized their 2022-23 Volunteers of the Year.


SUMMER GRADUATION

Covina-Valley Unified School District celebrated three Fairvalley High School graduates during a special graduation ceremony held on Aug. 3 at the District Field Hanes Center. The three graduates, Rigoberto Ortiz, Violet Rosales and Eric Urias, completed the necessary requirements to graduate during the summer. The District held an intimate ceremony to recognize the graduates for their academic success and achievement.


DISTRICT BAND SHOWCASE

Bands from different school sites display their hard work through a District-wide showcase. Many bands from various local high schools, middle schools, and elementary school choirs come to sing and play music for the community.
