All phases are applied to all processes included: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW & GTAW for Structural, Lite Gage Steel, Aluminum, Stainless, Reinforcing Steel and High Pressure Vessel Pipe. Limited exotic metals available on request. We are now offering D1.8 Seismic Certification also.
Combination Welder Training (CWT) class is for the serious welding student that wants to do it all in one class. We accept students of all skill levels. Beginner to advance, CWT offers students a minimum of (but not limited to) three weld processes in SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW including Oxy/Acetylene cutting and Carbon Arc Gouging resulting in certifications for all processes in accordance to Los Angeles Dept. of Building and Safety and the AWS D1.1 Structural Code. Classes also include lecture and lab time. Lecture includes safety practices, blueprint understanding, weld symbols, weld theory, math and much more. CWT students have access to the L.A. City Certification written exam prep class at no extra cost. CWT prepares students with workforce readiness skills, education and certification.
CWT evening classes are designed for the working students who cannot attend day courses but want to learn or improve and certify their welding processes. This is a “learn at your own pace” welding course that allows students time to fully understand and hone their welding skills. We take students at any skill level of welding and help them perfect those skills. Beginner, intermediate or advance – it does not matter. Courses are based on individual needs of our students. Classes include all safety practices along with proper operations and machine settings. Proper welding techniques in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW are offered along with OFC torch, Plasma and CAC training. Classroom studies include basic understanding in welding math and theory, electrode identification, metallurgy, weld symbols and blueprint understanding. These classes prepare the student for the LA City practical certification and job placement and access to the L.A. City Certification written exam prep class at no extra cost.
CWT Saturday classes are open for students of all levels of welding to either complete weld testing or just learn the art of welding and/or prepare for the LA City written exam. Both the career minded and backyard tinkerer will enjoy the ability to work with state of art equipment and with instructors, who have over 90 years of combined experience and training, to hone their craft or just learn how to make backyard repairs. Training and testing will cover all processes needed to complete the practical portion of the LADBS test and included is the LA City written prep with any regular registration. Students have access to the L.A. City Certification written exam prep class at no extra cost. Also note: you can also choose to attend just the LA City written prep classes as a standalone class without registering for the welding lab.
